Regent's CanalTowpath Improvements

Camden Town Unlimited are undertaking a project to improve the canal towpaths of Regents Canal between Camden Town and Kings Cross and wanted design proposals for a restored canal which could be used more regularly as an alternative walking and cycling route that avoids air borne pollution.

KLA produced a series of vison images to illustrate potential improvements to the physical infrastructure and aesthetics of the canal. These visions proposed improving the physical environment of the pathways and making them more pedestrian-friendly. Proposals included potential new lighting, increased greening, reconnecting adjacent communities to the canal, mending the conservation area and ways to encourage pedestrians to canal level.

This project also aims to reduce vehicle mileage, improve our streets and promote walking and cycling. The canal is Camden’s natural asset and our project seeks to make a shift and change in behavior to encourage this asset to be better used.
